Treatment protocol Diabetes was induced in female rat with intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (35mg/kg) before the onset of pregnancy.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol RNA was extracted from lung homogenate by using the Trizol reagent (Invitrogen, Carlsbad, CA, USA) followed by purification using RNeasy mini kit and RNase-free DNase I (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany).
Label Cy3
Label protocol Hybridization was detected by using 1µg/ml Cy3-Streptavidin (GE Healthcare, Little Chalfont, Buckinghamshire, UK).
 
Hybridization protocol 750 ng of cRNA was hybridized to the Illumina Sentrix RatRef-12 BeadChip microarray (Illumina Inc., San Diego, USA) representing ~22 000 genes, following a standard protocol of Illumina Whole Genome Gene Expression with IntelliHyb, revision A.
Scan protocol Array was scanned with BeadArray Reader from Illumina. Expression values were generated with Bead Studio 2.3.1 software (Illumina).
Description Replicate 2 of 4.
Data processing Microarray data analysis was performed using R statistical analysis software (http://www.project.org) and the related Bioconductor module (http://www.bioconductor.org). The data was preprocessed using the quantile normalization method and various measures were inspected during the quality control step. Correlation between the normalized expression values of biological replicates were >0.9897 for the control group and >0.983 for the study group. The statistical analysis was carried out using Limma package.
