The coding region has been updated to represent an alternative splice site that is more supported by the available transcript data. This CCDS representation is based on the splicing pattern of the mRNA D12686.1, but corrections have been made to correct several mismatches and frameshifting indels in that mRNA compared to the reference genome sequence. This variant uses an alternative downstream promoter, known as the gamma promoter. Experimental evidence in PMID:16982693 shows that this promoter is active, although it is used much less frequently than the upstream alpha or beta promoters. PMID:15755734 also provides support for a variant that is derived from the downstream gamma promoter. |
