Definition

A benign melanocytic neoplasm that arises from the conjunctiva. It is characterized by the presence of dendritic and spindle-shaped melanocytes in the subepithelial connective tissue. It presents as a dark brown or black, slightly elevated conjunctival lesion. [from NCI]
