Enables histone deacetylase binding activity and protein-macromolecule adaptor activity. Involved in positive regulation of apoptotic process. Acts upstream of or within negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II; oogenesis; and regulation of steroid biosynthetic process. Part of RNA polymerase II transcription repressor complex. Is expressed in several structures, including branchial arch; genitourinary system; liver; lung; and spleen.
