Summary
Enables calcium-dependent protein serine/threonine phosphatase activity; chromatin binding activity; and protein phosphatase regulator activity. Acts upstream of or within negative regulation of G1/S transition of mitotic cell cycle; negative regulation of cell population proliferation; and protein dephosphorylation. Part of protein phosphatase type 2A complex. Is expressed in several structures, including genitourinary system; heart; liver; lung; and spleen. Orthologous to human PPP2R3B (protein phosphatase 2 regulatory subunit B''beta). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.

Transcript Variant: This variant (3) differs in the 5' exon and contains multiple differences in internal exons, compared to variant 1. This variant is represented as non-coding because use of the 5'-most expected translational start codon renders the transcript a candidate for nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD).
