Summary
Enables C-C chemokine binding activity and C-C chemokine receptor activity. Involved in negative regulation of macrophage apoptotic process. Acts upstream of or within defense response. Located in external side of plasma membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; brain; hemolymphoid system gland; liver and biliary system; and reproductive system. Used to study Coronavirus infectious disease. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including Kawasaki disease; West Nile fever; autoimmune disease (multiple); berylliosis; and sarcoidosis (multiple). Orthologous to human CCR5 (C-C motif chemokine receptor 5). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
